McGuire is battling leukemia for the second time after first staving it off in 2010. He heard about Swift’s invitation following a bone-marrow procedure at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. His older sister Victoria is responsible for getting the Lorax star’s attention with a Facebook group that had nearly 100,000 followers in just a few days. “She’s just one of those girls where fame doesn’t get to her head,” McGuire said of his favorite country superstar. “She’s sweet. … If people could be more like Taylor, the world would be a better place.”
